Can Dulux timber tints be mixed with any floor finish?
Our Dulux timber tints for floor stains are specially formulated to play nice with most water-based and solvent-based clear finishes. However, we always recommend doing a small patch test first. This just makes sure the tint blends perfectly with your specific brand of floor sealer.
How do I achieve a consistent colour with Dulux tints on a large floor?
To get a perfectly consistent colour, the trick is to mix the total amount of tint you need into your finish container all at once (we call this batching). This stops any slight colour variations that can happen if you mix smaller amounts individually. Consistency is key!
Will Dulux floor tints fade in high-sunlight areas?
These tints are pretty tough and highly UV-resistant. However, all timber stains will experience some change under the direct Australian sun. To really extend the life of the colour, we recommend using a high-quality UV-rated topcoat over the tint.
